The type of place that gives automobile service shops bad names. Tried to pull a scam with my annual inspection with costs totaling over 200 dollars. Knew better and took my business elsewhere. Avoid them.

I have been using Virginia Automotive for the past few years for maintenance on all 3 of my automobiles and highly recommend them. Terry is easy to deal with and offers competitive pricing and competent mechanics. They also have a car club discount plan you can purchase. It includes free oil changes, free inspections, tire rotations and other savings. I have purchased this each of the past 2 years. Their waiting area is large and comfortable if you decide you want to wait for your car. If you are looking for an honest car repair where you get a quote before any work is done, go see Terry.

Top notch service every time! Everyone there is extremely professional and takes great care to ensure time spent waiting is kept to a minimum. The waiting room is clean and they have coffee/water/soda available at no charge while you're waiting. Free wifi is also nice. I'll be back for all my automotive service needs for sure.

I have visited this place on multiple occasions previously and was extremely satisfied with their service. On this occasion I am not happy with them. I spent almost $140 for a state inspection and and oil change. As a single woman, the one fear that most would anticipate happened. They offered all kinds of service to freak me out about my car. They offered so much "maintainence service" that they failed to do the additional things I actually asked them to do. When I inquired the extra work that I could see wasn't completed, I was given some bogus response that they did the best. But if this a full repair shop, I don't understand why they didn't fix it or find a way to do so. I'm angry about the service, I'm angry about the cost and I guess it's safe to say they won't get my business again. I will continue using my dealership if I'm going to be ripped off. The man in the front is nice but now I'm mad at him because he didn't follow through as he promised.

Had an appointment at 1 PM to drop off the car for State Inspection and Oil Change. Call at 12.30 PM to make sure and I was told that I will have to leave my car over night. That explains why most of their customers are trashy.

I called the shop and spoke with Ed to find out there wasn't much of a wait for a state inspection. I took in an old 94 Honda Accord with over 220k on it. The car hasn't even been on the road in 5 months. Many shops would eat the car alive on additional work and minor things for the inspection, but they didn't. They accurately failed it for wiper blades only. The extra work the did advise to have done, were all things that I know for a fact should be done anyways. Zero BS at this shop; highly recommend them.

My husband and I recently had a major problem with our cars transmission, requiring a brand new replacement transmission. The good people at Virginia automotive went above and beyond working with our warranty company to ensure our claim was covered. Even after our car was towed and sent to the dealership to replace the transmission, (after a recall was discovered) Ed helped us file a claim to cover an extra week with our rental. We could not be more pleased with the service we have recieved each and every time we take our vehicles to this shop. We will never take our cars anywhere else. These guys go above and beyond.

Got a pre-purchase inspection on my Hyundai Sonata on a Saturday morning. GREAT service, good prices, really nice waiting room, and even better people. I've been to a couple of different mechanics for various car repairs in the Richmond area and these guys are by far the best. On top of all that, I have never had a mechanic send me a hand-written thank you card in the mail thanking me for my service. It meant so much, will definitely be back, thanks!!
