As a woman buying a used car I wanted to take my car to a certified mechanic.I asked for a full evaluation Richard quoted me $1900 for minor repairs. It took me two paychecks And their credit loan for me to pay for repairs and then pick up my car. when I picked up my car, my car hadn’t even had an oil change after the shop had it for three weeks. I felt like something was wrong then. Now one week after that the car broke down and needed a jump. A different mechanic looked at it and told me my battery had Corrosion and needed to be replaced. the next week I’m in the car with my grandson in the engine blew. I hadn’t even made my first payment on the credit loan and I’m still obligated to pay it. I called the shop and Spoke to the manager Richard Who stated that he “did not tell me everything that was wrong with the car on the full evaluation because,my car was older and if he would have told me everything it would’ve cost me a lot of money “ however, I paid him for a full of evaluation ! I wanted to know exactly what was wrong with the car. The manager Richard also took no accountability for knowing anything was wrong with the engine. Richard’s exact words to me was “that the engine was fine when I left.” Heartless...I then had to resort to renting cars and catching a lyft 17 miles work because, I was scammed out of my money.

I had steam coming out of my hood, no heat, knocking noises, squeaking, the engine was riding rough, and coolant was leaking, so I knew I had problems. I suspected a water pump failure, and decided to call around to a few shops for a quote. The Lexus dealer threw out the highest bid, and the other two shops were close but VAS was the best price. On top of that, they work with the Costco Auto program which saves 15% on parts and service. They use NAPA parts which are high quality and well priced... good value. Through NAPA they also give you a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty on their work which is the best I've ever gotten from any shop. I got the car back in a day and it was running smooth and quietly purring like a brand new engine. The temperature gauge was actually slightly under the halfway point which I had never seen before, perhaps the effects of a new water pump, thermostat, serpentine belt, and coolant flush. So far, I'm very pleased with the work and the value of VAS, and I'll likely return for future repairs. Chris and Terry were very helpful and nice. I read on their website that Terry is a deacon at his church so I hoped they'd be honest folks. Everyone's goal is to find an honest and competent mechanic, and I think I've found mine. Really amazing service and a warm welcome. They took care of my jammed window, state inspection and other things that were wrong with my car at a very affordable price. The dealership would have charged me an arm and a leg. Glad I came here

My experience here was fantastic. I am new to Virginia so I was a little worried about dealing with mechanics that I was unfamiliar with but after my visit I've found a new home for my car. All the work was explained. The office staff were very professional, polite and courteous in person and over the phone.
